The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 with an increase of 1,138% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Egypt (X tons) was the main destination for homogenised jam and marmalade exports from Tunisia, with a 46% share of total exports. Moreover, homogenised jam and marmalade exports to Egypt exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, France (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Italy (X tons), with a 5.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Egypt totaled +32.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: France (+114.7% per year) and Italy (+101.7% per year).
In value terms, France ($X) remains the key foreign market for homogenised preparations of jams, fruit jellies and marmalades exports from Tunisia, comprising 30% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Italy ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Egypt, with an 8.1% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to France stood at +101.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+97.6% per year) and Egypt (+23.9% per year).

Imports into Tunisia
In 2022, approx. X tons of homogenised preparations of jams, fruit jellies and marmalades were imported into Tunisia; surging by 5.3% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, recorded a sharp shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 39% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, homogenised jam and marmalade imports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a precipitous decrease. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 when imports increased by 29% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2022, Greece (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of homogenised jam and marmalade to Tunisia, accounting for a 13% share of total imports. Moreover, homogenised jam and marmalade imports from Greece exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Czech Republic (X kg), eightfold. France (X kg) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 1.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Greece totaled -26.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Czech Republic (-28.3% per year) and France (-39.3% per year).
In value terms, Greece ($X) constituted the largest supplier of homogenised preparations of jams, fruit jellies and marmalades to Tunisia, comprising 13% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by France ($X), with a 4.8% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a 4.3% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Greece amounted to -16.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: France (-30.3% per year) and Italy (-9.2% per year).
