Italy (X tons) was the main destination for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports from Tunisia, accounting for a 43% share of total exports. Moreover, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports to Italy exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Albania (X tons), twofold. Morocco (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 9.8% share.

In value terms, Italy ($X) remains the key foreign market for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports from Tunisia, comprising 45% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Albania ($X), with a 16% share of total exports. It was followed by Morocco, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Italy amounted to -5.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Albania (+21.2% per year) and Morocco (+1.6% per year).

The average liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, shrinking by -3.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price saw a noticeable contraction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average export price increased by 43%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Romania (-0.2%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Tunisia
In 2022, the amount of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imported into Tunisia reduced dramatically to X tons, waning by -19.9% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 63%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports declined markedly to $X in 2022. In general, imports showed a noticeable setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 149% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
France (X tons), Algeria (X tons) and Greece (X tons) were the main suppliers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports to Tunisia, together comprising 40% of total imports. Libya, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia and Turkey lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 19%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Spain (with a CAGR of +16.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 when the average import price increased by 53%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per ton), while the price for Libya ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
