After two years of decline, purchases abroad of non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings increased by 0.2% to X square meters in 2022. Overall, imports, however, faced a abrupt decline. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 57% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports of hit record highs at X square meters in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, imports of non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings dropped modestly to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, showed a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 57% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
China (X square meters), Finland (X square meters) and Turkey (X square meters) were the main suppliers of imports of non-PVC floor, wall and ceiling coverings to Tunisia, with a combined 49% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Turkey (with a CAGR of +50.5%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
