Libya (X tons) was the main destination for wheat and meslin flour exports from Tunisia, with a 67% share of total exports. Moreover, wheat and meslin flour exports to Libya exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Mali (X tons), sixfold. Central African Republic (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.7% share.

In value terms, Libya ($X) remains the key foreign market for wheat and meslin flour exports from Tunisia, comprising 74% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Mali ($X), with a 12% share of total exports. It was followed by Benin, with a 4.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Libya totaled +52.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mali (+32.8% per year) and Benin (+12.8% per year).

In 2022, the average wheat and meslin flour export price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -2.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. After eight years of growth, purchases abroad of wheat and meslin flour decreased by -5.2% to X tons in 2022. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 709% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X tons in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

Moreover, wheat and meslin flour imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Greece (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by Egypt (X tons), with a 6.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Turkey amounted to +40.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Greece (+696.8% per year) and Egypt (+12.4% per year).
