The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when the production volume increased by 27%. Aluminium alloy wire production peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, production stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports from Turkey

In 2022, the amount of aluminium alloy wire exported from Turkey skyrocketed to X tons, increasing by 19% against the year before. Over the period under review, exports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 40%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, aluminium alloy wire exports surged to $X in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a mild expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +1.9% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +68.1% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 44% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Bulgaria (X tons), Sweden (X tons) and Slovakia (X tons) were the main destinations of aluminium alloy wire exports from Turkey, together comprising 30% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Slovakia (with a CAGR of +671.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for aluminium alloy wire exported from Turkey were Bulgaria ($X), Sweden ($X) and Slovakia ($X), together comprising 28% of total exports.

Slovakia, with a CAGR of +662.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The average aluminium alloy wire export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2022, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average export price increased by 23%. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Bahrain (+49.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey

In 2022, aluminium alloy wire imports into Turkey surged to X tons, jumping by 26% against the previous year. In general, imports recorded a prominent expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 47% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, aluminium alloy wire imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports posted a prominent expansion. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Imports by Country

In 2022, China (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of aluminium alloy wire to Turkey, accounting for a 44% share of total imports. Moreover, aluminium alloy wire imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), threefold. Malaysia (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +10.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+11.3% per year) and Malaysia (+40.3% per year).

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of aluminium alloy wire to Turkey, comprising 41% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by the Netherlands ($X), with an 18% share of total imports. It was followed by Spain, with a 10% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China amounted to +10.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (+15.4% per year) and Spain (+27.0% per year).

Import Prices by Country

The average aluminium alloy wire import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, picking up by 20% against the previous year. Over the last decade, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 21% against the previous year. The import price peaked in 2022 and is likely to continue growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Malaysia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+13.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
