These countries were followed by the Netherlands, Greece, Russia, Cyprus and Singapore, which together accounted for a further 14%.

The average crab and crab meat export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, with a decrease of -5.2% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 122% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2020, and then fell in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Hong Kong SAR ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Cyprus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Hong Kong SAR (+19.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey
In 2021, the amount of crabs and crab meat imported into Turkey skyrocketed to X tons, rising by 164% on 2020. Over the period under review, imports saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 249%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, crab and crab meat imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded prominent growth. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Norway (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of crab and crab meat to Turkey, with a 70% share of total imports. Moreover, crab and crab meat imports from Norway exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Bangladesh (X tons), more than tenfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Russia (X tons), with a 5.6% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Norway totaled +21.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Russia (+17.6% per year) and Bangladesh (0.0% per year).
