Imports into Turkey
In 2022, purchases abroad of electrical insulating fittings of plastics increased by 17% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after three years of decline. Overall, total imports indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +45.9% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 88%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
In value terms, electrical insulating fittings imports rose significantly to $X in 2022. In general, imports continue to indicate buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 78%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to continue growth in the near future.

Japan (X tons), Germany (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the main suppliers of electrical insulating fittings imports to Turkey, together comprising 44% of total imports. Italy, China, Thailand, Belgium, Hungary, France, Vietnam, Spain, Mexico and the Czech Republic lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 45%.
