Ether Market Size in Turkey

The Turkish ether market expanded notably to $X in 2022, picking up by 5.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, consumption, however, showed a noticeable downturn. Ether consumption peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, consumption failed to regain momentum.

For the third consecutive year, Turkey recorded growth in shipments abroad of ethers, which increased by 22% to X tons in 2022. Overall, exports enjoyed a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 52%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, ether exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 65%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Russia (X tons), Romania (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of ether exports from Turkey, with a combined 51% share of total exports.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Spain (+14.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Ether imports into Turkey soared to X tons in 2022, growing by 34% against 2021 figures. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a resilient expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, ether imports surged to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 89% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

The Netherlands (X tons), Belgium (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of ether imports to Turkey, with a combined 68% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Belgium (with a CAGR of +48.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
