The Turkish fire-fighting vehicle market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2021, after four years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption recorded a strong expansion. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, exports increased by +81.7% against 2017 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when exports increased by 84%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2016 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, fire-fighting vehicle exports reduced slightly to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, saw a buoyant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when exports increased by 51% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2020, and then contracted modestly in the following year.
Exports by Country
Vietnam (X units), Romania (X units) and Nigeria (X units) were the main destinations of fire-fighting vehicle exports from Turkey, together comprising 46% of total exports. Italy, Iran, Libya, Tunisia, Oman, Honduras, Croatia and Iraq lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 35%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Oman (with a CAGR of +144.9%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for fire-fighting vehicle exported from Turkey were Romania ($X), Vietnam ($X) and Nigeria ($X), with a combined 51% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Iran, Tunisia, Croatia, Libya, Italy, Oman, Iraq and Honduras, which together accounted for a further 33%.
Oman, with a CAGR of +83.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average fire-fighting vehicle export price amounted to $X per unit, remaining constant against the previous year. Over the period from 2012 to 2021, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 an increase of 23% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the maximum in 2021 and is likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Iran ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iran (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey
In 2021, purchases abroad of fire-fighting vehicles increased by 225% to X units, rising for the second year in a row after three years of decline. In general, imports, however, recorded a abrupt shrinkage. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 438%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, fire-fighting vehicle imports surged to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 369%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Austria (X units) constituted the largest fire-fighting vehicle supplier to Turkey, accounting for a 27% share of total imports. Moreover, fire-fighting vehicle imports from Austria exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Germany (X units), twofold. Georgia (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 3.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Austria totaled +2.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (-16.4% per year) and Georgia (0.0% per year).
In value terms, the largest fire-fighting vehicle suppliers to Turkey were Germany ($X), Austria ($X) and Serbia ($X), with a combined 99% share of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, Austria, with a CAGR of +6.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
