The Turkish heat exchange unit market shrank slightly to $X in 2022, therefore, remained relatively stable against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, recorded a strong expansion. In 2022, approx. X units of heat exchange units were exported from Turkey; surging by 5.9% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed buoyant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 49% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, heat exchange unit exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports saw a prominent increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 52%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
Exports by Country
Germany (X units), Poland (X units) and France (X units) were the main destinations of heat exchange unit exports from Turkey, together comprising 40% of total exports. These countries were followed by Russia, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Italy, Sweden, Australia, the United States, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan and Belgium, which together accounted for a further 33%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Uzbekistan (with a CAGR of +56.7%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for heat exchange unit exported from Turkey were Germany ($X), Poland ($X) and France ($X), together accounting for 37% of total exports. Russia, the United Arab Emirates, Sweden, Italy, the United States, Australia, Uzbekistan, Belgium, Egypt and Azerbaijan lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, the United Arab Emirates, with a CAGR of +51.8%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average heat exchange unit export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Egypt ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey
In 2022, supplies from abroad of heat exchange units increased by 3.7% to X units, rising for the third consecutive year after three years of decline. In general, total imports indicated a resilient increase from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +31.7% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 73%. Imports peaked at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, heat exchange unit imports expanded sharply to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.4% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +49.9% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 78% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
Italy (X units), China (X units) and Germany (X units) were the main suppliers of heat exchange unit imports to Turkey, with a combined 51% share of total imports. Slovenia, France, Spain, South Korea and Sweden lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 33%.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovenia (with a CAGR of +96.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest heat exchange unit suppliers to Turkey were Italy ($X), China ($X) and France ($X), with a combined 47% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Germany, Slovenia, Spain, South Korea and Sweden, which together accounted for a further 26%.
Among the main suppliers, Slovenia, with a CAGR of +73.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
The average heat exchange unit import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, with an increase of 8.9% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the price for Slovenia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+3.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
