Iraq (X tons), Egypt (X tons) and Israel (X tons) were the main destinations of paper label exports from Turkey, with a combined 26% share of total exports. Germany, Bulgaria, the United States, Georgia, Azerbaijan, the UK, France, Italy, Romania and Libya lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 36%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Libya (with a CAGR of +28.6%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Egypt ($X), Germany ($X) and Bulgaria ($X) constituted the largest markets for paper label exported from Turkey worldwide, with a combined 27% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Iraq, Georgia, Italy, the United States, Israel, France, the UK, Romania, Azerbaijan and Libya, which together accounted for a further 30%.
The United States, with a CAGR of +19.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average paper label export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, surging by 15% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Egypt ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Libya ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Egypt (+1.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey
In 2021, purchases abroad of labels of paper or paperboard decreased by -9.9% to X tons, falling for the fourth year in a row after four years of growth. Overall, imports showed a pronounced setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 with an increase of 18%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, paper label imports dropped slightly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when imports increased by 15%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Germany (X tons), China (X tons) and Poland (X tons) were the main suppliers of paper label imports to Turkey, with a combined 59% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +37.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest paper label suppliers to Turkey were China ($X), Germany ($X) and Italy ($X), with a combined 58% share of total imports. These countries were followed by the United States, Poland, Romania, France, Hong Kong SAR, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK and Sweden, which together accounted for a further 25%.
Among the main suppliers, Poland, with a CAGR of +37.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average paper label import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 8.4% against the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.2%. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average import price increased by 20%. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
