Moreover, camel and other animal meat exports to France exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X tons), fivefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Spain (X tons), with a 1.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to France stood at +1.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (-16.9% per year) and Spain (+43.1% per year).

In value terms, France ($X) remains the key foreign market for meat of camels and other animals exports from Turkey, comprising 79% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Italy ($X), with a 19% share of total exports. It was followed by Spain, with a 2% share.

For the seventh year in a row, Turkey recorded decline in supplies from abroad of meat of camels and other animals, which decreased by -13.3% to X kg in 2022. Over the period under review, imports faced a sharp setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 with an increase of 994%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, camel and other animal meat imports reduced markedly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports showed a precipitous setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 585% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
