The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when exports increased by 43% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Iraq (X units) was the main destination for medical steriliser exports from Turkey, accounting for a 20% share of total exports. Moreover, medical steriliser exports to Iraq exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Russia (X units), threefold. Saudi Arabia (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 6.7% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Iraq totaled +27.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Russia (+6.5% per year) and Saudi Arabia (+29.3% per year).

In value terms, the largest markets for medical steriliser exported from Turkey were Iraq ($X), Russia ($X) and Estonia ($X), together accounting for 31% of total exports.

In terms of the main countries of destination, Estonia, with a CAGR of +71.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

For the sixth consecutive year, Turkey recorded growth in overseas purchases of medical, surgical or laboratory sterilisers, which increased by 20% to X units in 2022. In general, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +6.7% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +22.3% against 2015 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2015 when imports increased by 53% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, medical steriliser imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.0% over the period from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 19%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

In 2022, China (X units) constituted the largest medical steriliser supplier to Turkey, accounting for a 60% share of total imports. Moreover, medical steriliser imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X units), fivefold. Israel (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from China totaled +21.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+0.4% per year) and Israel (+24.8% per year).

In value terms, the largest medical steriliser suppliers to Turkey were China ($X), Italy ($X) and Israel ($X), together accounting for 58% of total imports. These countries were followed by France, Germany, Switzerland, the United States, India, Finland, South Korea, Sweden and Japan, which together accounted for a further 32%.

Finland, with a CAGR of +53.6%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average medical steriliser import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, which is down by -3.2% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 an increase of 18%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
