In 2022, after two years of growth, there was significant decline in the Turkish network communications equipment market, when its value decreased by -9.3% to $X. Russia (X units) was the main destination for network communications equipment exports from Turkey, accounting for a 40% share of total exports. Moreover, network communications equipment exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Lithuania (X units), fivefold. Hong Kong SAR (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 7.2% share.

In value terms, Russia ($X) emerged as the key foreign market for network communications equipment exports from Turkey, comprising 49% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Norway ($X), with a 7.1% share of total exports. It was followed by the Netherlands, with a 6.3% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Russia stood at +166.7%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Norway (+150.1% per year) and the Netherlands (+4.9% per year).

In 2022, the average network communications equipment export price amounted to $X per unit, growing by 9.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price posted a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 65% against the previous year. After two years of growth, overseas purchases of network communications equipment decreased by -6.6% to X units in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a tangible increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 81% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X units in 2021, and then shrank in the following year.

In value terms, network communications equipment imports fell to $X in 2022. In general, imports, however, posted buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 65%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.

In 2022, China (X units) was the main supplier of network communications equipment to Turkey, accounting for a 94% share of total imports. It was followed by Vietnam (X units), with a 2.7% share of total imports.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of network communications equipment to Turkey, comprising 81% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Vietnam ($X), with a 1.9% share of total imports.
