For the third year in a row, the Turkish market for other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses recorded decline in sales value, which decreased by -29.5% to $X in 2022. The exports peaked at X tons in 2021, and then fell dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, exports of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses amounted to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total exports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +67.9% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 37% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Iraq (X tons) was the main destination for exports of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses from Turkey, accounting for a 32% share of total exports. Moreover, exports of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses to Iraq exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Italy (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by Morocco (X tons), with a 6% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Iraq stood at +2.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+2.0% per year) and Morocco (+30.7% per year).

In value terms, Iraq ($X) remains the key foreign market for other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses exports from Turkey, comprising 17% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with an 8% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 6.8% share.

From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Iraq totaled +2.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Italy (+3.5% per year) and Germany (+8.3% per year).

Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, imports of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses soared to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a strong expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Denmark (X tons), China (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of imports of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses to Turkey, with a combined 57% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Denmark (with a CAGR of +73.1%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Denmark ($X) constituted the largest supplier of other plastic tubes, pipes and hoses to Turkey, comprising 34% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Italy ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 12% share.
