Russia (X tons) was the main destination for pears and quinces exports from Turkey, accounting for a 41% share of total exports. Moreover, pears and quinces exports to Russia exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Iraq (X tons), fourfold. Romania (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume to Russia amounted to +21.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Iraq (+5.7% per year) and Romania (+18.0% per year).
In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the key foreign market for pears and quinces exports from Turkey, comprising 39% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Israel ($X), with a 10% share of total exports. It was followed by Romania, with a 7.6% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Russia totaled +19.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Israel (+124.7% per year) and Romania (+18.4% per year).

The average pears and quinces export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, approximately mirroring the previous year. Overall, the export price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 17% against the previous year. Imports into Turkey
In 2022, approx. X tons of pears and quinces were imported into Turkey; with an increase of 729% on the previous year's figure. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable slump. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

Russia, with a CAGR of +104.6%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average pears and quinces import price amounted to $X per ton, declining by -2.5% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated a pronounced increase from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.3% over the last decade.
