Tunisia, with a CAGR of +51.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average plastic container export price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 5.4% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 8.7%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Iraq ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 97% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in years to come.

The average plastic container import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, falling by -25.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price saw a noticeable decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 33% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Netherlands ($X per ton), while the price for Spain ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
