The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 129% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then declined sharply in the following year.

Germany (X units), Azerbaijan (X units) and Ukraine (X units) were the main destinations of positive displacement pump exports from Turkey, together comprising 33% of total exports. These countries were followed by Russia, Iran, Turkmenistan, Iraq, Egypt, Georgia, Portugal, Romania, France and Cyprus, which together accounted for a further 42%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Portugal (with a CAGR of +124.2%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X) remains the key foreign market for positive displacement pumps and hand pumps exports from Turkey, comprising 31% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Iraq ($X), with a 4.7% share of total exports. It was followed by Russia, with a 4.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Germany stood at +30.2%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Iraq (+11.8% per year) and Russia (-13.9% per year).

Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +50.5% against 2016 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 64%. Imports peaked at X units in 2020, and then declined in the following year.

In value terms, positive displacement pump imports reduced remarkably to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 112%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X, and then dropped sharply in the following year.

China (X units), Germany (X units) and India (X units) were the main suppliers of positive displacement pump imports to Turkey, with a combined 85% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for India (with a CAGR of +34.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of positive displacement pumps and hand pumps to Turkey, comprising 82% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 3.6% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 1.6% share.

As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then reduced dramatically in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was China ($X per unit), while the price for Germany (less than $X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Thailand (+2.9%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
