The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.8% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when exports increased by 21% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then contracted in the following year.
In value terms, sauce and seasoning exports contracted to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 24%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X, and then contracted in the following year.
Exports by Country
Iraq (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main destinations of sauce and seasoning exports from Turkey, with a combined 43% share of total exports. These countries were followed by the United States, Cyprus, the United Arab Emirates, Israel, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Sweden, Russia, Spain and the Netherlands, which together accounted for a further 28%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +61.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Iraq ($X), Germany ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X) constituted the largest markets for sauce and seasoning exported from Turkey worldwide, together accounting for 37% of total exports. These countries were followed by the UK, the United States, Israel, Cyprus, Belgium, Azerbaijan, Sweden, the Netherlands, Spain and Russia, which together accounted for a further 29%.
Russia, with a CAGR of +49.0%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average sauce and seasoning export price amounted to $X per ton, rising by 7.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to the UK ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+8.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey
In 2021, approx. X tons of sauces and seasonings were imported into Turkey; growing by 28% against the previous year's figure. Overall, imports continue to indicate strong growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 31%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
In value terms, sauce and seasoning imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. In general, imports recorded a resilient expansion. As a result, imports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The Netherlands (X tons), Indonesia (X tons) and Germany (X tons) were the main suppliers of sauce and seasoning imports to Turkey, with a combined 51% share of total imports. The UK, Hungary, Egypt, Italy, China, Poland, Thailand, Hong Kong SAR, the United States and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 38%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Egypt (with a CAGR of +226.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Indonesia ($X) constituted the largest supplier of sauces and seasonings to Turkey, comprising 29% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the UK ($X), with an 11% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with a 10% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Indonesia amounted to +180.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the UK (+8.7% per year) and Germany (+1.5% per year).
