The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 130% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2021, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

Iran (X cubic meters) was the main destination for sawnwood (non-coniferous) exports from Turkey, accounting for a 85% share of total exports. From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Iran amounted to +29.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+7.5% per year) and Iraq (-5.3% per year).

In 2022, imports of sawnwood (non-coniferous) into Turkey surged to X cubic meters, with an increase of 22% on the year before. In general, total imports indicated a modest expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +55.8% against 2019 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 32%. Imports peaked at X cubic meters in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, sawnwood (non-coniferous) imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +89.8% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Cameroon (X cubic meters), the United States (X cubic meters) and Romania (X cubic meters) were the main suppliers of sawnwood (non-coniferous) imports to Turkey, with a combined 68% share of total imports. Ukraine, Angola, Cote d'Ivoire, Congo, Bulgaria and Georgia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.
