Overall, exports, however, saw prominent growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 with an increase of 261%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, full-rotation excavator exports soared to $X in 2021. In general, exports, however, recorded resilient growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 202%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Exports by Country

Azerbaijan (X units), Spain (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main destinations of full-rotation excavator exports from Turkey, with a combined 21% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Iran, Egypt, France, Georgia, Slovenia, Syrian Arab Republic, Serbia, Thailand, Chile and Italy, which together accounted for a further 36%.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Thailand (with a CAGR of +86.4%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for full-rotation excavator exported from Turkey were Azerbaijan ($X), Spain ($X) and France ($X), together accounting for 26% of total exports. These countries were followed by Slovenia, Serbia, Italy, Georgia, Iran, Thailand, Chile, the Netherlands, Egypt and Syrian Arab Republic, which together accounted for a further 29%.

Thailand, with a CAGR of +129.7%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Spain ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 238%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, full-rotation excavator imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a deep downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 175% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

Japan (X units), China (X units) and South Korea (X units) were the main suppliers of full-rotation excavator imports to Turkey, together comprising 90% of total imports.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by China (with a CAGR of +24.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
