The Turkish sparkling wine market shrank notably to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -17.6% against the previous year. In general, consumption, however, recorded resilient growth. As a result, consumption attained the peak level of $X, and then dropped notably in the following year.

From 2016 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, sparkling wine exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports saw a significant increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 850%. In value terms, sparkling wine imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, imports recorded a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 157%. Imports peaked in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

Italy (X litres), France (X litres) and Germany (X litres) were the main suppliers of sparkling wine imports to Turkey, together accounting for 92% of total imports. These countries were followed by Argentina and Spain, which together accounted for a further 7.6%.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Argentina (with a CAGR of +85.2%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
