The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, rubber tube and pipe exports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.2% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The United States (X tons), Germany (X tons) and Italy (X tons) were the main destinations of rubber tube and pipe exports from Turkey, with a combined 49% share of total exports. Poland, France, China, the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium, Spain, Austria, Canada and the United Arab Emirates lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 29%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for China (with a CAGR of +19.4%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Germany ($X), the United States ($X) and Poland ($X) constituted the largest markets for rubber tube and pipe exported from Turkey worldwide, together accounting for 48% of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, France, Belgium, the UK, the Netherlands, China, Spain, Austria, the United Arab Emirates and Canada, which together accounted for a further 30%.
Among the main countries of destination, Belgium, with a CAGR of +27.4%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average rubber tube and pipe export price amounted to $X per ton, approximately reflecting the previous year. Over the last nine years, it increased at an average annual rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average export price increased by 11%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2020, and then dropped slightly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Belgium ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Belgium (+9.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Turkey
In 2021, overseas purchases of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber increased by 27% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after two years of decline. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.1% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X tons in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, rubber tube and pipe imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.3% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with only minor fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X tons) constituted the largest rubber tube and pipe supplier to Turkey, with a 42% share of total imports. Moreover, rubber tube and pipe imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Italy (X tons), threefold. Romania (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 7.4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China totaled +8.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Italy (+1.9% per year) and Romania (+8.5% per year).
In value terms, the largest rubber tube and pipe suppliers to Turkey were Germany ($X), Italy ($X) and China ($X), together comprising 40% of total imports. Romania, France, Japan, South Korea, the Czech Republic, Poland, the United States, India, Bulgaria and Slovenia lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 48%.
Poland, with a CAGR of +15.7%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average rubber tube and pipe import price amounted to $X per ton, reducing by -4.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 5.9%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while the price for China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
