From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value to Russia totaled +121.9%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Iraq (+25.5% per year) and China (+191.5% per year).

The average preserved and frozen vegetable export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, increasing by 67% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a deep slump. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia (+3.1%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Imports of Vegetables (Preserved, Frozen)
Imports into Turkey
In 2022, the amount of vegetables (preserved, frozen) imported into Turkey dropped significantly to X tons, with a decrease of -28% on the previous year. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 242% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, preserved and frozen vegetable imports fell to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 171% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2016 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Iran (X tons) constituted the largest preserved and frozen vegetable supplier to Turkey, accounting for a 68% share of total imports. Moreover, preserved and frozen vegetable imports from Iran exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, the Netherlands (X tons), fourfold. Belgium (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Iran totaled +59.3%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the Netherlands (-6.3% per year) and Belgium (+27.9% per year).
In value terms, the Netherlands ($X) constituted the largest supplier of vegetables (preserved, frozen) to Turkey, comprising 47% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Belgium ($X), with a 22% share of total imports. It was followed by Iran, with a 17% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from the Netherlands totaled -7.1%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (+26.8% per year) and Iran (+34.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average preserved and frozen vegetable import price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 25% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, faced a abrupt curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 33%.
