The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 50% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Mexico (X tons) and Canada (X tons) were the main destinations of antimony ore and concentrate exports from the United States.

Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 36% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Mexico ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada totaled $X per ton.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Canada (-2.7%).

Imports into the U.S.
In 2021, purchases abroad of antimony ores and concentrates decreased by -69.3% to X tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Overall, imports showed a precipitous setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 76%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, antimony ore and concentrate imports dropped markedly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports faced a significant decrease. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 70% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Italy (X tons) constituted the largest antimony ore and concentrate supplier to the United States, accounting for a 67% share of total imports. Moreover, antimony ore and concentrate imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Belgium (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was taken by Mexico (X tons), with a 4% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from Italy totaled -26.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (-10.4% per year) and Mexico (-1.0% per year).
In value terms, Italy ($X) constituted the largest supplier of antimony ores and concentrates to the United States, comprising 66% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 26% share of total imports. It was followed by Mexico, with a 5.1% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Italy totaled -28.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Belgium (-8.6% per year) and Mexico (+16.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average antimony ore and concentrate import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, jumping by 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, continues to indicate a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 37% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2016 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the countries with the highest prices were Mexico ($X per ton) and India ($X per ton), while the price for Belgium ($X per ton) and Italy ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+18.0%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
