In general, consumption, however, continues to indicate buoyant growth. Electric board, desk and panel consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then dropped in the following year.

In value terms, electric board, desk and panel production declined markedly to $X in 2021. Overall, production, however, enjoyed buoyant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the production volume increased by 82%. Electric board, desk and panel production peaked at $X in 2020, and then declined rapidly in the following year.

After two years of decline, overseas shipments of electrical boards, panels, consoles, desks and cabinets increased by 3.9% to X units in 2021. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 13% against the previous year. The exports peaked at X units in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, electric board, desk and panel exports expanded modestly to $X in 2021. Overall, exports, however, showed a slight descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 10%. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Canada (X units), Mexico (X units) and Singapore (X units) were the main destinations of electric board, desk and panel exports from the United States, with a combined 85% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Singapore (with a CAGR of +1.8%), while the other leaders experienced a decline.
In value terms, the largest markets for electric board, desk and panel exported from the United States were Mexico ($X), Canada ($X) and the UK ($X), with a combined 73% share of total exports.
The UK, with a CAGR of +8.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the average export price for electrical boards, panels, consoles, desks and cabinets amounted to $X per unit, remaining relatively unchanged against the previous year. In general, export price indicated a tangible increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +4.7% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+22.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Imports of Electrical Boards, Panels, Consoles, Desks and Cabinets
Imports into the U.S.
In 2021, overseas purchases of electrical boards, panels, consoles, desks and cabinets were finally on the rise to reach X units after three years of decline. In general, imports, however, showed a perceptible reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when imports increased by 28%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, electric board, desk and panel imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a strong increase from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by 30% against the previous year. Imports peaked in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
Thailand (X units), China (X units) and the Philippines (X units) were the main suppliers of electric board, desk and panel imports to the United States, with a combined 46% share of total imports. These countries were followed by Mexico, France, Slovakia, Taiwan (Chinese), Spain, Canada, Germany, India, South Korea and the United Arab Emirates, which together accounted for a further 46%.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Slovakia (with a CAGR of +122.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) constituted the largest supplier of electrical boards, panels, consoles, desks and cabinets to the United States, comprising 36% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Canada ($X), with a 16% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 9.3% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Mexico amounted to +13.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Canada (+4.3% per year) and China (+3.8% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average import price for electrical boards, panels, consoles, desks and cabinets amounted to $X per unit, rising by 11% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a strong increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when the average import price increased by 62%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per unit), while the price for Thailand ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
