The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average export price increased by 23% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per ton. In 2022, the amount of carbon dioxide imported into the United States soared to X tons, growing by 25% compared with 2021 figures. Canada, Israel, Austria, China, South Korea, Hungary, Japan, the Dominican Republic and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by South Korea (with a CAGR of +102.7%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest carbon dioxide suppliers to the United States were Israel ($X), Canada ($X) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X), together accounting for 56% of total imports. Austria, China, Hungary, South Korea, Japan, Trinidad and Tobago, Costa Rica, the UK and the Dominican Republic lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 42%.
