Canada (X tons) was the main destination for chromium exports from the U.S., with a X% share of total exports. Moreover, chromium exports to Canada exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, the Netherlands (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was occupied by Malaysia (X tons), with a X% share.
From 2007 to 2020, the average annual growth rate of volume to Canada was relatively modest. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: the Netherlands (+X% per year) and Malaysia (+X% per year).
In value terms, Canada ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Malaysia ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for chromium exported from the U.S. worldwide, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Germany, Mexico, the UK and Switzerland, which together accounted for a further X the main countries of destination, Switzerland recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

After three years of growth, purchases abroad of chromium decreased by -X% to X tons in 2020. In general, imports, however, posted mild growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X tons in 2019, and then contracted rapidly in the following year.
In value terms, chromium imports dropped significantly to $X in 2020. Overall, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Imports peaked at $X in 2019, and then contracted notably in the following year.

Russia (X tons), France (X tons) and the UK (X tons) were the main suppliers of chromium imports to the U.S., with a combined X% share of total imports. China, Germany and India lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in India (+X% per year), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Russia ($X), the UK ($X) and France ($X) constituted the largest chromium suppliers to the U.S., with a combined X% share of total imports. The average chromium import price stood at $X per ton in 2020, waning by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw a mild reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011 an increase of X% y-o-y. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $X per ton. From 2012 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France, while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
