The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
As there is only one major export destination, the average price level is determined by prices for Mexico.

Imports into the U.S.
In 2022, the amount of crude palm oil imported into the United States amounted to X tons, with an increase of 5.1% on 2021. Over the period under review, imports saw a buoyant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 28,787%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X tons. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, crude palm oil imports rose sharply to $X in 2022. Overall, imports posted a resilient increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 when imports increased by 19,443% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Ecuador (X tons), Colombia (X tons) and Nicaragua (X tons) were the main suppliers of crude palm oil imports to the United States, with a combined 84% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Colombia (with a CAGR of +45.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest crude palm oil suppliers to the United States were Ecuador ($X), Colombia ($X) and Nicaragua ($X), with a combined 79% share of total imports.
Among the main suppliers, Colombia, with a CAGR of +52.6%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average crude palm oil import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 4.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price saw strong growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 202% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Ghana ($X per ton), while the price for Colombia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
