Mexico (X tons), Hong Kong SAR (X tons) and Brazil (X tons) were the main destinations of machinery electrical parts exports from the United States, with a combined 74% share of total exports. Thailand, China, Germany, Singapore, Switzerland, Japan, India and Honduras lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.
From 2020 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Switzerland (with a CAGR of +3,928.2%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the key foreign market for electrical parts of machinery or apparatus exports from the United States, comprising 31% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Hong Kong SAR ($X), with an 8.6% share of total exports. It was followed by Japan, with a 6.4% share.
From 2020 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Mexico amounted to +6.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Hong Kong SAR (+72.3% per year) and Japan (+39.9% per year).

The average machinery electrical parts export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, which is down by -45.3% against the previous year. In general, the export price faced a sharp setback. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $X per ton in 2020, and then declined dramatically in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Honduras ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Switzerland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2020 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Honduras (+20,962.5%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the U.S.
In 2022, purchases abroad of electrical parts of machinery or apparatus decreased by 99.9% to less than X kg for the first time since 2011, thus ending a ten-year rising trend. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a perceptible expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 3.3% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then contracted markedly in the following year.
In value terms, machinery electrical parts imports reduced to $X in 2022. Overall, imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 26%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

Mexico (X tons), Japan (X tons) and China (X tons) were the main suppliers of machinery electrical parts imports to the United States, together accounting for 78% of total imports.
From 2020 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Japan (with a CAGR of +136.3%), while imports for the other leaders experienced mixed trend patterns.
In value terms, Mexico ($X), Japan ($X) and China ($X) constituted the largest machinery electrical parts suppliers to the United States, with a combined 66% share of total imports. Thailand, Taiwan (Chinese), Vietnam and South Korea lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 13%.
