Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, frozen freshwater fish exports reduced modestly to $X in 2021. In general, exports recorded a pronounced descent. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 9.1% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Japan (X tons), China (X tons) and South Korea (X tons) were the main destinations of frozen freshwater fish exports from the United States, with a combined 85% share of total exports. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +4.2% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 with an increase of 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, frozen freshwater fish imports soared to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +4.4% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
