In 2021, the U.S. aromatic monoamines market decreased by -34.7% to $X for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year rising trend. Over the period under review, consumption showed a pronounced reduction. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, aromatic monoamines imports reduced to $X in 2021. In general, imports saw a noticeable reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 6.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, Germany (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of aromatic monoamines to the United States, with a 66% share of total imports. Moreover, aromatic monoamines imports from Germany exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was taken by China (X tons), with a 5.6% share.
