Canada (X tons) was the main destination for respiration apparatus exports from the United States, accounting for a 36% share of total exports. Moreover, respiration apparatus exports to Canada exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Mexico (X tons), threefold. Germany (X tons) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 7.7% share.

Over the period under review, imports recorded a remarkable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 36%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, respiration apparatus imports fell to $X in 2021. In general, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2021: its value increased at an average annual rate of +7.5% over the last nine-year period. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices failed to regain momentum.
