After five years of growth, the U.S. pump for liquid market decreased by -15.8% to $X in 2021. In general, consumption, however, showed a resilient increase. Pump for liquid consumption peaked at $X in 2020, and then dropped notably in the following year.

In 2021, overseas shipments of pumps for liquids and liquid elevators were finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year declining trend. Overall, exports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 19%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, pump for liquid exports expanded significantly to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, exports, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Exports by Country
Mexico (X units), Canada (X units) and China (X units) were the main destinations of pump for liquid exports from the United States, together comprising 71% of total exports.
From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for China (with a CAGR of +10.8%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for pump for liquid exported from the United States were Canada ($X), Mexico ($X) and China ($X), together comprising 48% of total exports.
Among the main countries of destination, China, with a CAGR of +5.2%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
The average pump for liquid export price stood at $X per unit in 2021, standing approx. at the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a slight slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 when the average export price increased by 11% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the UK (+4.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into the U.S.
In 2021, after nine years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of pumps for liquids and liquid elevators, when their volume decreased by -22.3% to X units. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 81% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then declined notably in the following year.
In value terms, pump for liquid imports surged to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.7% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
Imports by Country
In 2021, China (X units) constituted the largest supplier of pump for liquid to the United States, accounting for a 75% share of total imports. Moreover, pump for liquid imports from China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Mexico (X units), sevenfold. South Korea (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 2.8% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +39.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Mexico (+15.3% per year) and South Korea (+12.8% per year).

Taiwan (Chinese), with a CAGR of +10.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Import Prices by Country
In 2021, the average pump for liquid import price amounted to $X per unit, jumping by 50% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, showed a abrupt downturn. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for China ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Taiwan (Chinese) (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
