The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when exports increased by 31% against the previous year. The exports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Mexico (X tons) was the main destination for quilted textile products exports from the United States, with a 60% share of total exports. Moreover, quilted textile products exports to Mexico exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Canada (X tons), fourfold. The third position in this ranking was held by the Dominican Republic (X tons), with a 5.6% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of volume to Mexico totaled -2.5%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Canada (-0.9% per year) and the Dominican Republic (+5.9% per year).
In value terms, Mexico ($X) remains the key foreign market for quilted textile products in the piece (excluding embroidery) exports from the United States, comprising 53% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Canada ($X), with a 14% share of total exports. It was followed by Nicaragua, with a 4.5% share.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Mexico amounted to -6.4%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Canada (+0.2% per year) and Nicaragua (+35.5% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2021, the average quilted textile products export price amounted to $X per ton, with an increase of 2.2% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, continues to indicate a pronounced setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 16%. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major foreign markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Nicaragua ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to El Salvador ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into the U.S.
In 2021, overseas purchases of quilted textile products in the piece (excluding embroidery) decreased by -0.1% to X tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. In general, imports showed a perceptible downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 with an increase of 52%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, quilted textile products imports soared to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when imports increased by 32% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Canada (X tons), China (X tons) and Mexico (X tons) were the main suppliers of quilted textile products imports to the United States.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Thailand (with a CAGR of +107.8%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest quilted textile products suppliers to the United States were Canada ($X), China ($X) and Mexico ($X), with a combined 64% share of total imports. Pakistan, the UK, Italy, Thailand, India and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 28%.

The average quilted textile products import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, rising by 15% against the previous year. In general, the import price continues to indicate a noticeable expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 96%. The import price peaked in 2021 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the countries with the highest prices were Mexico ($X per ton) and Canada ($X per ton), while the price for Italy ($X per ton) and Taiwan (Chinese) ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
