In 2021, after two years of decline, there was significant growth in the U.S. safety headgear market, when its value increased by 37% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, safety headgear exports surged to $X in 2021. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +2.7% over the period from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Over the period under review, the exports reached the maximum at $X in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Canada (X units), Mexico (X units) and Chile (X units) were the main destinations of safety headgear exports from the United States, with a combined 55% share of total exports. Peru, the Netherlands, France, the UK, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Indonesia, El Salvador, the United Arab Emirates and Venezuela lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 25%.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2021 figures, imports increased by +51.0% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 17%. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum in 2021 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.
