In 2021, the amount of railway or tramway coaches (self-propelled) imported into the United States plummeted to X tons, with a decrease of -61.9% compared with the previous year. In general, imports, however, posted a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 when imports increased by 15,649%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, self-propelled railway coach imports contracted significantly to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when imports increased by 13,049%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at $X in 2020, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.
