Steam Turbine Market Size in the U.S.

In 2021, after two years of decline, there was growth in the U.S. steam turbine market, when its value increased by 2.3% to $X. Over the period under review, consumption saw a significant expansion. Steam turbine consumption peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2021, the exports failed to regain momentum.

Canada (X units), China (X units) and Guatemala (X units) were the main destinations of steam turbine exports from the United States, together accounting for 50% of total exports. Bangladesh, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Russia, Italy, Poland and Mexico lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 38%.

In 2021, the average steam turbine export price amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -11.8% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of 7,156% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2016 to 2021, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, steam turbine imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports saw a abrupt descent. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 357% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In 2021, Israel (X units) constituted the largest steam turbine supplier to the United States, with a 65% share of total imports. Moreover, steam turbine imports from Israel exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Brazil (X units), threefold.
