In 2022, overseas shipments of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing increased by 2.1% to X tons, rising for the second consecutive year after six years of decline. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a noticeable shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 47% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, textile tubing exports rose markedly to $X in 2022. In general, exports, however, recorded a abrupt downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when exports increased by 28% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Canada (X tons) was the main destination for textile tubing exports from the United States, accounting for a 50% share of total exports. Moreover, textile tubing exports to Canada exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Mexico (X tons), threefold. The third position in this ranking was held by China (X tons), with a 4.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume to Canada amounted to +2.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Mexico (-11.3% per year) and China (+0.5% per year).
In value terms, the largest markets for textile tubing exported from the United States were Mexico ($X), Canada ($X) and China ($X), with a combined 50% share of total exports. India, Japan, Brazil and Saudi Arabia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 17%.
Among the main countries of destination, India, with a CAGR of +22.4%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average textile tubing export price stood at $X per ton in 2022, with an increase of 4.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a noticeable slump. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2015 when the average export price increased by 27% against the previous year. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2022, the export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Imports into the U.S.
In 2022, supplies from abroad of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing increased by 7.1% to X tons, rising for the second year in a row after two years of decline. Over the period under review, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +31.8% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 29%. Imports peaked at X tons in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, textile tubing imports rose remarkably to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.7% from 2012 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 31%. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
China (X tons), Canada (X tons) and Norway (X tons) were the main suppliers of textile tubing imports to the United States, together accounting for 82% of total imports. Germany, India, the UK, Bulgaria and Taiwan (Chinese) lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 13%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by Germany (with a CAGR of +14.9%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Canada ($X) constituted the largest supplier of textile hosepiping and similar textile tubing to the United States, comprising 48% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by China ($X), with a 21% share of total imports. It was followed by Germany, with an 11% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Canada amounted to +2.7%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: China (+9.8% per year) and Germany (+9.4% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average textile tubing import price stood at $X per ton in 2022, surging by 2.3% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a mild shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the average import price increased by 6.4% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Bulgaria ($X per ton), while the price for India ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
