As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

In 2021, overseas purchases of tubes, pipes and hoses of vulcanized rubber were finally on the rise to reach X tons for the first time since 2018, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, total imports indicated resilient growth from 2012 to 2021: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, rubber tube and pipe imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. Imports peaked at $X in 2018; afterwards, it flattened through to 2021.

In 2021, Mexico (X tons) constituted the largest rubber tube and pipe supplier to the United States, accounting for a 39% share of total imports.
