The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
In value terms, unvulcanized rubber exports rose slightly to $X in 2022. The total export value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 21% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.

Mexico (X tons), Canada (X tons) and India (X tons) were the main destinations of unvulcanized rubber exports from the United States, with a combined 67% share of total exports.

In value terms, Mexico ($X), Canada ($X) and China ($X) constituted the largest markets for unvulcanized rubber exported from the United States worldwide, with a combined 64% share of total exports. Belgium, the UK, the Netherlands, India, Brazil, Turkey and Thailand lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 19%.
In terms of the main countries of destination, India, with a CAGR of +12.3%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average unvulcanized rubber export price amounted to $X per ton, surging by 3.2% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a slight decrease. The export price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +1.4% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained relatively stable, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 28%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, unvulcanized rubber imports expanded significantly to $X in 2022. The total import value increased at an average annual rate of +1.2% over the period from 2012 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with somewhat noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 33%. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Canada (X tons) constituted the largest unvulcanized rubber supplier to the United States, with a 47% share of total imports. Moreover, unvulcanized rubber imports from Canada exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Thailand (X tons), fivefold. China (X tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with an 8.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Canada was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Thailand (+25.0% per year) and China (+4.1% per year).
In value terms, Canada ($X) constituted the largest supplier of unvulcanized rubber and articles thereof to the United States, comprising 41% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Germany ($X), with a 12% share of total imports. It was followed by Thailand, with a 9.8% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value from Canada was relatively modest. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+2.0% per year) and Thailand (+23.4% per year).

In 2022, the average unvulcanized rubber import price amounted to $X per ton, growing by 4.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the average import price increased by 5.8%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2012; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Japan ($X per ton), while the price for Poland ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
