Variable Capacitor Market Size in the U.S.

In 2022, the U.S. variable capacitor market decreased by -36.9% to $X for the first time since 2011, thus ending a ten-year rising trend. Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a significant expansion. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X, and then fell significantly in the following year.

In value terms, variable capacitor exports shrank to $X in 2022. Overall, exports continue to indicate resilient growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 91%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then shrank slightly in the following year.

Mexico (X units) was the main destination for variable capacitor exports from the United States, with a 89% share of total exports. It was followed by China (X units), with a 2.8% share of total exports. Taiwan (Chinese) (X units) ranked third in terms of total exports with a 1.1% share.

In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 96%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X units, and then dropped dramatically in the following year.

In value terms, variable capacitor imports shrank modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, recorded a strong expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 54% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then reduced slightly in the following year.

In 2022, Japan (X units) constituted the largest variable capacitor supplier to the United States, accounting for a 59% share of total imports. Moreover, variable capacitor imports from Japan exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), fourfold.
