The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 with an increase of 824% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2017 to 2022, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

Rwanda (X kg) was the main destination for butan-1-ol (n-butyl alcohol) exports from Uganda, with a approx. 100% share of total exports.

Imports into Uganda
In 2022, the amount of butan-1-ol (n-butyl alcohol) imported into Uganda surged to X tons, jumping by 77% compared with the previous year's figure. In general, imports showed tangible growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 129%. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, butan-1-ol (n-butyl alcohol) imports soared to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, saw a slight shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 108% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
South Africa (X tons), Germany (X tons) and the United States (X tons) were the main suppliers of butan-1-ol (n-butyl alcohol) imports to Uganda, with a combined 74% share of total imports. India, the United Arab Emirates and Kenya lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 26%.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the main suppliers, was attained by India (with a CAGR of +57.2%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest butan-1-ol (n-butyl alcohol) suppliers to Uganda were South Africa ($X), India ($X) and Germany ($X), with a combined 78% share of total imports.
In terms of the main suppliers, India, with a CAGR of +64.2%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 32% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Kenya ($X per ton), while the price for the United States ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Saudi Arabia (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
