In general, exports, however, saw a abrupt slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of 283% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, concrete-mixer lorry exports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a abrupt curtailment. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of 2,100%. The exports peaked at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

Togo (X units), Tanzania (X units) and Rwanda (X units) were the main destinations of concrete-mixer lorry exports from Uganda, together accounting for 43% of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Togo (with a CAGR of 0.0%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for concrete-mixer lorry exported from Uganda were Tanzania ($X), Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X) and Kenya ($X), with a combined 83% share of total exports. Rwanda, Togo, South Sudan and Sudan lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 17%.

Rwanda, with a CAGR of +15.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average concrete-mixer lorry export price stood at $X per unit in 2022, rising by 9% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, faced a abrupt decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when the average export price increased by 474% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Tanzania ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Sudan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Rwanda (+15.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Uganda

Concrete-mixer lorry imports into Uganda dropped remarkably to X units in 2022, reducing by -22.5% against 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 145%. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, concrete-mixer lorry imports shrank remarkably to $X in 2022. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a strong expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 195%. Imports peaked at $X in 2021, and then fell notably in the following year.

Imports by Country

China (X units), Kenya (X units) and South Africa (X units) were the main suppliers of concrete-mixer lorry imports to Uganda, with a combined 44% share of total imports. Moreover, concrete-mixer lorry imports in China exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Kenya, twofold.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Kenya (with a CAGR of +21.5%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest concrete-mixer lorry suppliers to Uganda were Germany ($X), China ($X) and South Africa ($X), together comprising 46% of total imports.

In terms of the main suppliers, South Africa, with a CAGR of +55.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

In 2022, the average concrete-mixer lorry import price amounted to $X per unit, approximately equating the previous year. Over the period under review, import price indicated strong growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +7.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, concrete-mixer lorry import price increased by +55.3% against 2017 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 47%. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then reduced in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per unit), while the price for Denmark ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+32.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
