Loudspeaker Market Size in Uganda
The Ugandan loudspeaker market skyrocketed to $X in 2022, growing by 35% against the previous year. This figure reflects the total revenues of producers and importers (excluding logistics costs, retail marketing costs, and retailers' margins, which will be included in the final consumer price). Over the period under review, the total consumption indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.0% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, consumption decreased by -20.7% against 2020 indices. Over the period under review, the market hit record highs at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, consumption remained at a lower figure.

Exports from Uganda
After two years of decline, overseas shipments of loudspeakers increased by 298% to X units in 2022. In general, exports, however, saw a deep contraction. The exports peaked at X units in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, loudspeaker exports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Overall, exports, however, showed a deep contraction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2016 when exports increased by 257%. The exports peaked at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.
Exports by Country
Burundi (X units), Democratic Republic of the Congo (X units) and South Sudan (X units) were the main destinations of loudspeaker exports from Uganda, with a combined 88% share of total exports.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Burundi (with a CAGR of +49.5%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Democratic Republic of the Congo ($X) remains the key foreign market for loudspeakers exports from Uganda, comprising 57% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by South Sudan ($X), with a 23% share of total exports. It was followed by Sudan, with a 9.4% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Democratic Republic of the Congo totaled +3.6%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: South Sudan (+25.9% per year) and Sudan (-6.4% per year).
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average loudspeaker export price amounted to $X per unit, falling by -20.8% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, enjoyed moderate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average export price increased by 207%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Sudan ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Burundi ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Zambia (+43.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Uganda
In 2022, purchases abroad of loudspeakers was finally on the rise to reach X units after two years of decline. Over the period under review, imports enjoyed a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 with an increase of 64% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2020 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, loudspeaker imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. In general, total imports indicated a moderate expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +4.5% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports decreased by -19.3% against 2020 indices. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, China (X units) was the main loudspeaker supplier to Uganda, with a 94% share of total imports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates (X units), with a 1.6% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from China amounted to +8.4%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United Arab Emirates (-8.3% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (-19.2% per year).
In value terms, China ($X) constituted the largest supplier of loudspeakers to Uganda, comprising 86% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by the United Arab Emirates ($X), with a 6.3% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from China stood at +6.0%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: the United Arab Emirates (+8.0% per year) and Hong Kong SAR (-28.3% per year).
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average loudspeaker import price amounted to $X per unit, waning by -14.9% against the previous year. In general, the import price showed a slight reduction. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average import price increased by 30% against the previous year. The import price peaked at $X per unit in 2021, and then declined in the following year.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit), while the price for Hong Kong SAR ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+17.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
