In value terms, monoammonium phosphate imports stood at $X in 2022. In general, imports saw a buoyant expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of 240%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $X. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
Kenya (X tons), Israel (X tons) and the Netherlands (X tons) were the main suppliers of monoammonium phosphate imports to Uganda, with a combined 95% share of total imports.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for the Netherlands (with a CAGR of +81.8%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Israel ($X) constituted the largest supplier of monoammonium phosphate (MAP) to Uganda, comprising 72% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was held by Kenya ($X), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by China, with a 7.1% share.
