Exports from Uganda
Non-electric bakery oven exports from Uganda amounted to less than X units in 2022, approximately reflecting the year before. Over the period under review, exports showed a significant decline. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when exports increased by 167% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X units. From 2015 to 2022, the growth of the exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-electric bakery oven exports reduced modestly to $X in 2022. Overall, exports showed a dramatic curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 152%. The exports peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the exports failed to regain momentum.
Exports by Country
Burundi (X units) and South Sudan (X units) were the main destinations of non-electric bakery oven exports from Uganda.
From 2012 to 2015, the biggest increases were recorded for Burundi (with a CAGR of -20.6%).
In value terms, Burundi ($X), South Sudan ($X) and Rwanda ($X) appeared to be the largest markets for non-electric bakery oven exported from Uganda worldwide, together comprising 64% of total exports.
Burundi, with a CAGR of -10.0%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average non-electric bakery oven export price amounted to $X per unit, rising by 13% against the previous year. Overall, the export price posted a notable increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 an increase of 140% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $X per unit. From 2018 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Burundi ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Sudan ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Burundi (+45.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Uganda
In 2022, approx. X units of non-electric bakery ovens were imported into Uganda; dropping by -15.4% compared with 2021 figures. Overall, imports saw a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2016 when imports increased by 258%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, non-electric bakery oven imports fell markedly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of 200% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at $X in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Italy (X units) was the main supplier of non-electric bakery oven to Uganda, with a 91% share of total imports. Moreover, non-electric bakery oven imports from Italy exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X units), tenfold.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of volume from Italy totaled -11.5%.
In value terms, the largest non-electric bakery oven suppliers to Uganda were Italy ($X), China ($X) and India ($X), together accounting for 28% of total imports.
China, with a CAGR of -1.7%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main suppliers over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline.
Import Prices by Country
In 2022, the average non-electric bakery oven import price amounted to $X per unit, which is down by -20.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a strong increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 369%. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was India ($X per unit), while the price for Italy ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by South Africa (+27.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
