In value terms, non-electric roasting furnace exports dropped modestly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, exports continue to indicate a deep setback. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when exports increased by 794%. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure at $X in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Rwanda (X units) and Kenya (X units) were the main destinations of non-electric roasting furnace exports from Uganda.
From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Kenya (with a CAGR of 0.0%).
In value terms, Rwanda ($X) remains the key foreign market for non-electric furnaces and ovens for the roasting or melting exports from Uganda, comprising 93% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kenya ($X), with a 6.5% share of total exports.

Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2015; however, from 2016 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Rwanda ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Kenya amounted to $X per unit.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Democratic Republic of the Congo (+264.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

Imports into Uganda
For the fourth year in a row, Uganda recorded decline in overseas purchases of non-electric furnaces and ovens for the roasting or melting, which decreased by -6.2% to X units in 2022. In general, imports recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by 556% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of X units. From 2019 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, non-electric roasting furnace imports contracted significantly to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded moderate growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when imports increased by 291% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at $X in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2022, Canada (X units) constituted the largest supplier of non-electric roasting furnace to Uganda, accounting for a 27% share of total imports. Moreover, non-electric roasting furnace imports from Canada exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, India (X units), fourfold. South Africa (X units) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 6.7% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Canada stood at +2.9%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (0.0% per year) and South Africa (0.0% per year).
In value terms, Canada ($X) constituted the largest supplier of non-electric furnaces and ovens for the roasting or melting to Uganda, comprising 47% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by India ($X), with an 8.3% share of total imports. It was followed by the UK, with a 2.9% share.
From 2012 to 2022, the average annual growth rate of value from Canada totaled +1.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: India (+2.2% per year) and the UK (+7.1% per year).
Import Prices by Country
The average non-electric roasting furnace import price stood at $X per unit in 2022, declining by -22.6% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, posted a moderate expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 an increase of 183% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $X per unit in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Canada ($X per unit), while the price for Turkey ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+51.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
