As a result, the exports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2017 an increase of 11%. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major external markets. In 2021, the country with the highest price was the United States ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Uzbekistan ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Georgia (+12.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports into Ukraine

Base metal closure imports into Ukraine skyrocketed to X tons in 2021, growing by 19% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports showed prominent growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 24%. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, base metal closure imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports enjoyed prominent growth. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In 2021, Poland (X tons) constituted the largest supplier of base metal closure to Ukraine, accounting for a 52% share of total imports. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value from Poland stood at +5.5%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Germany (+15.2% per year) and Belarus (+18.0% per year).

The average base metal closure import price stood at $X per ton in 2021, growing by 8.8% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the maximum at $X per ton in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Turkey ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+5.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.
