Poland (X tons) was the main destination for metal bath exports from Ukraine, with a 78% share of total exports. Moreover, metal bath exports to Poland exceeded the volume sent to the second major destination, Germany (X tons), sixfold. From 2012 to 2021, the average annual growth rate of value to Poland totaled +73.3%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Germany (+60.2% per year) and Slovakia (-0.5% per year).

The average metal bath export price stood at $X per ton in 2021, dropping by -2.7% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when the average export price increased by 158% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices hit record highs at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Moldova ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Lithuania ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

Metal bath imports into Ukraine dropped markedly to X tons in 2021, which is down by -24% against 2020. Overall, imports faced a drastic downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2019 when imports increased by 9.2% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from China ($X per ton) and Germany ($X per ton), while the price for Russia ($X per ton) and the Czech Republic ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (+10.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
